Mario Kart Tour
Mario Kart Tour review
Mario Kart Tour App is a simplified version of Nintendo's popular racing game released in September 2019. Download Mario Kart Tour App and enjoy this fun arcade-style game.
One-Hand Control and Subscription Options
In Mario Kart Tour, you will see the well-known plumber, his family, as well as real and false friends participating in a race within replicas of real cities. The karts are easily controlled from a portrait perspective, though the roads are hard to navigate with their unexpected hazards, ramps, and springboards. It also feels unnatural to control the kart with just one of your hands, especially when it automatically accelerates. You get a free app for two weeks and then have to pay a monthly fee for certain goodies, features, and speed options. It's a pity that the fastest mode is accessible only for real money.
Daily Limit of Experience Points
Tours are new to the game, and they represent different cities where you race. Players can participate in up to 18 cups within one tour, collecting authentic local karts, drivers, and gliders. Depending on how you finish the race, you get rewarded with experience points. However, these points are limited to a daily amount. Once a week, you can compete with AI opponents and get more bonuses, and, fortunately, in March 2020, the multiplayer mode was launched! Now you can have fun with a maximum of seven other players, who have to be your in-game friends.
Localized Characters and Monetizing Model
Luckily, the tours' destinations change every two weeks, and the main characters get the special features that reflect the local atmosphere of the venues you race through. Colorful, high-resolution screens, together with great sound effects and music, create an involving atmosphere. However, almost every Mario Kart Tour App review contains a complaint about its pay-to-play model, sometimes nearly ignoring the skills you get throughout the gameplay.
